VENEER EDGEBANDING
Veneer is undoubtedly the most natural way of making furniture
While selecting veneer sheets, it is crucial to choose the premium grade veneers for production. Production of veneer edgebanding requires special attention, the reason being that a beautiful wood edge treatment has the capability to improve the quality of the furniture.
Step 1: Veneer Selection
All veneers are carefully selected to ensure that the final product is of superior quality.
Step 2: Fingerjoint Process
After selection, the veneers sheets are finger-jointed by Ludy finger-joint machines. This is the most important part of the process as it determines the quality of the product.
Step 3: Hotmelt Precoating
The finger-jointed rolls are either coated with hotmelt or laminated with fleece paper or laminated to veneer to produce double layer. We ensure that sufficient hotmelt is applied so that no matter how bad the quality of the panel is, our edgebanding sticks to the board.
Step 4: Fleece Lamination
The other option is the fleece backing where we use the fleece paper that is imported from Germany. With only the right ingredients of materials (right fleece and the right PVAs glue) and the experience, the perfect result is achieved.
Step 5: Veneer Lamination
This is third option to create double layer edgebanding. Here, we use PVAc glue to make sure that it bonds perfectly together. The thickness is about 0.9mm to 1.1mm.
Step 6: Sanding
After this process, the veneer is sanded to the desired thickness (ranges between 0.5mm-0.4mm) or 0.9mm to 1.1mm in double layer veneer edgebanding.
Step 7: Slitting
The sanded rolls are now ready for the cutting phase. The widths of rolls are determined by the customers. It could range from 19mm to 200mm.
Step 8: Packing
After cutting, the rolls are packed and ready for dispatch to the waiting customers.

Quality Comes First
At Tece, we use EVA based hot melt for all pre-glued edgebanding. Approximately 400 gr of hot melt is applied to the backside of the sheets. This is to ensure consistent retention of all the physical properties of edgebanding at different weather conditions in future, regardless of how the edgebanding is used.Step 1: Veneer Selection
